The 2024 Silverado HD, Chevrolet's new heavy duty truck

Under the hood

The 2024 Silverado HD will feature a 6.6L Duramax Turbo Diesel V8 engine that has been upgraded for even more power and refinement. We are talking about an increase in power and torque which are now estimated at 470 hp and 975 lb-ft. In addition, low-end torque production has been increased by up to 25%, which will improve performance at low speeds or uphill, when towing.

Interestingly, this will be the first time that the proven Allison 10-speed automatic transmission will be offered as standard for the standard 6.6L V8 gas engine and the optional Duramax Turbo Diesel engine. It has also been improved, in order to optimize the gasoline engine's hill braking, smoother gear changes, faster downshifts and it will offer an increase in the feeling of comfort compared to power on demand.

A refined cabin

All models of the 2024 Silverado HD will be treated to a new, redesigned and more refined interior that will also be equipped with higher level technologies. A 13.4-inch-diagonal screen completes the infotainment system on board LT, LTZ and High Country models. The infotainment system screen and other controls are also angled towards the driver, giving it a "command center" perspective. Note that a center console incorporating an electric charger will be available on certain models. Then there will be more hidden storage, including in the console, glove boxes and even in the goggle holder.

The towing technologies of the 2024 Silverado HD set it apart from other trucks! Indeed, these technologies have been improved and now include adaptive cruise control, side obstacle detection warning, gross combined weight rating exceeded warning and finally, transparent towing view.
