Lucie Leboeuf: Passion and Dedication Beyond Retirement

On this International Women’s Rights Day, we want to celebrate a woman who proves that passion and determination have no age. Lucie Leboeuf, receptionist at Chevrolet Buick GMC of Valleyfield, embarked on a new career path at a time when many were expecting her to slow down. Instead, she embraced a fresh start, showing that the automotive industry welcomes those willing to learn and grow. Here’s her inspiring story through a short questionnaire.

Q: How long have you been working as a receptionist?
A: “I’ve been a receptionist since September 2020.”

Q: What attracted you to this field?
A: “To be honest, the automotive industry chose me! At the age of 66, I was asked to retire, but I wasn’t ready. So, I applied for the receptionist position at Chevrolet Valleyfield, and four years later, I’m still here!”

Q: How do you feel about working in this industry?
A: “I am very proud to be part of a professional team—it’s my new family.”

Q: Do you think women have a place in the automotive sector?
A: “Absolutely! A woman certainly has her place in this industry—everything can be learned!”

Q: If you could drive any car, which one would you choose and why?
A: “I recently bought a Buick Encore GX, but I have always been drawn to GM products. It’s a legacy from my father.”

Lucie’s journey is a powerful reminder that new opportunities can arise at any stage of life. Her story is one of resilience, adaptability, and passion—qualities that make her an invaluable part of the team. She proves that women belong in the automotive world and that learning never stops.

On behalf of Lucie and the entire team at Chevrolet Buick GMC de Valleyfield, happy International Women’s Rights Day!
