The official unveiling of Chevrolet's first all-electric SUV, the 2024 Blazer EV, took place on July 18th at an event hosted by GM in Los Angeles, California. Remember that it was in 1969 that the Blazer name joined the Chevrolet family and since then, the Blazer has been served in different configurations.
Outer appearance
While there is a resemblance to the gas-powered Blazer, the 2024 Blazer EV adopts a more futuristic look, with a few new features, including an illuminated logo, as well as a light bar linking the headlights on the front of the vehicle.
Note that the 2024 Blazer EV is the first all-electric model to use the SS (Super Sport) performance emblem and that the “SS” badge is placed on the grille.
The Blazer EV gets bigger wheels. Indeed, it sports 12-spoke Continental wheels, which gives it a more “aggressive” look. The SS version, meanwhile, stands out with 22-inch wheels, as well as its two-tone paint.
A sumptuous cabin
The interior of the 2024 Blazer EV benefits from flexible materials and a customizable 17.7-inch touchscreen. For the RS and SS versions, we can find exclusive design elements such as blue and red stitching, microfiber seats and much more. All versions have heated seats and steering wheel as standard.
Performance and autonomy
As we already know, the Blazer EV uses GM's Ultium platform, which was specially designed to accommodate the automaker's electric vehicles.
Other than the SS performance trim, the 2024 Blazer EV is available in multiple trims ranging from 1LT, 2LT, and RWD RS models. As far as autonomy is concerned, the RS version takes first place with 515 km of autonomy.
As for the SS performance version, it develops 557 horsepower and 648 lb-ft of torque for maximum power. According to GM, it will be possible to go from 0 to 100 km/h in less than four seconds.
The Blazer EV will offer a charge of 11 kilowatts and will also be able to accept a fast charge of 190 kilowatts, allowing it to gain 125 kilometers of range in just ten minutes.
State-of-the-art technology
Of course, the Blazer EV takes advantage of the latest connectivity technologies and GM's Super Cruise hands-free driving system, which is optional on higher-end models. In addition, you no longer need keys to start your vehicle thanks to the hands-free start system.
The model should go on sale in the summer of 2023. Take action and reserve your 2024 Chevrolet Blazer EV today.
